This is your DIY forum and growing this forum will take a "team effort"! I figured that there would be no better way to promote the initial launch and growth of our community than with a few contests. So here they are!

CONTEST DETAILS

Date: Now through October 31st, 2007 (Halloween). Enough time to get some great competition going!

Who Can Win? Members Only! Gotta join the board to participate and win!

Top referrer: Whoever refers the most people to join DIYscene.com as a member.
Each referral member must make at least two posts to qualify, and cannot be deemed SPAM posts! Most referrals by October 31st, 2007 is a winner. (Either use the referral link provided in your User CP, or tell your friends they must type your DIYscene.com member name in the designated field in the registration. You can post a link on your websites or in emails! NOTE: We will be watching for fake registrations! Be honest!).
Prize: $50 Gift Card of your choice to either: Jo-Ann Fabrics, Michael's, or eBay ($25 bonus if you bring in over 50 people!)


The Secret Number Post: I've selected a secret random number. Whoever's post is that number will win this prize. (Exclusions - 1 liners, spam posts, and Administrator posts can't win. If one of these is the secret post #, the prize will be awarded to the next post that qualifies.)

Does it have to be directly on the secret number? Or the one closest to the secret number?

I have a number selected already, and on October 31 I am going to see who made post # <secret number>.... if no one matches it, it will be whoever is closest

Right now there is 855 posts... no one has hit the secret number yet (its greater than 1000)

yes, it's a great motivator. Contests every month guys will keep readership,posting up. Hopefull it won't send you broke though!

Reminder and information about current contest:

Don't get discouraged if you see other members with large post counts and referral numbers.

As far as posts go, if you are not the top poster, you still have a chance! Just be active and participate whenever you have free time.

As far as referrals go, remember that a valid referral constitutes that the referred member make at least TWO valid posts. So if someone has a HUGE referral count, that number only represents how many people they got to sign up, and not how many VALID referrals they have. This means that someone with 100 referrals could have the same number of VALID referrals as someone with only 15 referrals...

And no, I wont tell you how many of your referrals are valid...

Use the referral resources in your User CP to help! There is code that will allow you to spread DIYscene.com information using text and image links.
